For this type of heel, shoe style trends include bright colors and unique details, especially on the heel, including lots of hardware, fringe, and even chains. Feature heels may include decorative designs on a classic platform or wedge, or uniquely shaped heels that are a far cry from the typical heel shape. This season’s hottest heels are known not only for their unique designs but also for their deliberate sex appeal.

Another type of heeled shoe with a unique design is the cutout bootie. These shoes look like sandals or closed-toe pumps from the front, and have a shaft like a boot. Between the toe and the ankle, however, the shoe is open. This cutout style is a trendy boot-shoe combination that hasn’t been seen before. Many have peep toes to add to the cutout effect.

If you like short boots but don’t want ones with cutouts, try a pair of fringed booties. These folk-inspired designs are popular with a short dress, giving a bohemian look. Ankle booties graze the top of the ankle bone, and are often paired with bright colored tights for an 80s look.
